'Tis the Season (for Social Networking)

It seems as though Simon Cowell got a lesson in humility. How? According to sources, Facebook users banded together (lead by Jon & Tracy Morter) to boost Rage Against The Machine's single "Killing in the Name Of" to the top of the UK Christmas charts, ahead of the always-perfectly-timed Simon Cowell. The alleged reason this was done, was to beat out Simon's typical Idol/X-Factor artists to the top of the Christmas charts. They succeeded.

The man knows business, yes, but he's also very disliked in numerous circles for his attitude. This seems like the FB users were striking out against Simon and his typical operations, proving once again that if you have a group of people believing in something, it can shoot the object to the moon. In this case, it was an aptly picked song dated from 1996.

It's a strong song, with a strong message, and has staying power.

What do your songs say and can people rally behind them? Use the tribe...
